Mr. Jack Chak-kwong So

Biography

Aged 72, is an Independent Non-executive Director of the Company. He was appointed a Non-executive Director of the Company on 28 September 2010 and re-designated as an Independent Non-executive Director of the Company on 26 September 2012. From August 2007 to September 2010, Mr. So served as an Independent Non-executive Director of AIA Co. He is currently an independent nonexecutive director of China Resources Power Holdings Co. Ltd. (listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange) and serves as the Chairman of Airport Authority Hong Kong. He is also an independent senior advisor to Credit Suisse, Greater China. Mr. So was Chairman of the Consultative Committee on Economic and Trade Co-operation between Hong Kong and Mainland China from October 2013 to December 2015. He has been a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference since 2008. Mr. So was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star and the Grand Bauhinia Medal by the HKSAR Government in 2011 and 2017 respectively. He is also an Honorary Consultant to the Mayor of San Francisco. Mr. So served as an executive director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council from 1985 to 1992 and served as its Chairman from 2007 to 2015. He was an independent non-executive director of Cathay Pacific Airways Limited (listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange) from 2002 to May 2015, a non-executive director of Huanxi Media Group Limited (listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange) from September 2015 to September 2016 and served as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Film Development Council from 2007 to 2013.
