Biography
Chunhua Shen is a Professor at School of Computer Science, The University of Adelaide. He is leading the Adelaide Machine Learning Group. He is a Project Leader and Chief Investigator at the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision, which receives a total of $20 million in federal funding between 2014 and 2020; also a Chief Investigator at the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (CRC), which receives $50m in federal funding for 7 years. He joined The University of Adelaide in 2011. Prior to that, he was with the NICTA (National ICT Australia, now Data61) Canberra research laboratory. His research interests are in the intersection of statistical machine learning, large-scale optimisation, and computer vision. He studied at Nanjing University, at Australian National University, and received his PhD degree from The University of Adelaide. From 2012 to 2016, he held an Australian Research Council Future Fellowship.
