Biography
Elisa is an Architect/Urbanist and Landscape Architect with a PhD in Urban Design, Regional and Environmental Planning. She is a Senior Lecturer in Urban Design and Landscape Architecture and the Director of the Urban Ecosystem-design Lab at the University of Adelaide. Contract Professor at the Universities of Florence and Pisa, Italy (2006/2010), she has been Visiting Professor and Research Scholar at the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University, Beijing, P.R.C. (2012/2013), until she moved to Adelaide. As UNDP/UNESCO International Consultant she has been the Scientific Coordinator of the Bethlehem Area and Conservation Management Plan in the occupied Palestinian territories, from 2007 to 2010. Elisa is the co-founder of studiostudio architettiurbanisti, a Swiss-Italian architecture and planning office, and in the role of Principal Architect she was involved in several architectural, urban design and landscape projects, in Europe, Middle East and P.R.C. Adaptive Urban Design. Climate and Water sensitive cities and landscapes. Design for flooding; Landscape and Urban Design for urban regeneration and local economic development. Urban ecosystem design. Sustainable mobility corridors and green infrastructures. Sub-urban landscapes and peri-urban agriculture. Urban farming, working cultural landscapes.
