Biography
Assoc Prof. Judy Magarey is Deputy Head of the School of Nursing. She graduated as a Registered Nurse at Royal Adelaide Hospital in the 1970s and subsequently completed a Critical Care Certificate in the early 1980s. Judy was appointed as the ICU clinical educator in 1988 and coordinated the Intensive Care program at RAH for six years. Judy has worked in the School of Nursing since it was established in 1995 and coordinated the Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science (Intensive Care Nursing) until 2001. She is currently and teaches several of the courses in the Master of Nursing Science and coordinates the Bachelor of Health Science Honours program. Research Interest
Acute Nursing Changing clinical practice. Nurse led interventions in Adult Intensive Care Sedation of Mechanically ventilated Adults in Intensive Care. Nursing actions designed to reduce noise, promote sleep and communicate with intensive care patients.
