Biography
Lisa Daniel brings a cross-disciplinary background to the UoA Business School with a Bachelor of Science with a first class Honours in the field of molecular plant pathology (UQ) and PhD in Technology and Innovation Management (UQ). Her current focus on agri-business eco-system research takes Lisa the full circle from researching the attributes and contributions of food crops to society, to researching agribusiness, regional communities and the people involved in the processes. This research circle demonstrates a profound connection agriculture, rural communities and food production issues. Lisa's research focuses on the relational, institutional and system dynamics that support innovation, knowledge and sustainability in businesses and organisations. Her emphasis is systems research seeks understanding of the complexities and synergies in organisations and regional communities as well as in more focused contexts such as specialist teams and expert collectives. Her research interests include the socio-technical processes of knowledge development, technology and innovation organisations, knowledge in practice, social innovation and sustainable regional development. Lisa is currently a lecturer in strategic management and organisational theory at the University of Adelaide Business School. Research Interest
Lisa's research interests focus on knowledge, innovation and technology. In particular the socio-technical, institutional and complex dynamic processes supporting the development and leverage of knowledge and innovation. She explores these issues through capabilities like knowledge advancement, regional development, community entrepreneurship, social innovation and various technological and R&D scenarios, Her contexts are often unique communities, groups of experts, high performance teams, as well as high tech' organisations and more widely through industry clusters. Her research on knowledge, innovation and technology frequently presents a critical approach and often challenges existing preconceptions. Lisa adopts a systems perspective, pragmatic epistemology and humanistic approach to her research.
