Biography
My background is in Psychology. I completed my PhD in 2014 in the School of Psychology at the University of Sydney. I studied taste and smell perception, with a specific interest in wine perception. During that time I also conducted research into odour-colour synaesthesia. I taught statistics to students at all tertiary levels and was highly regarded for my teaching and statistical skills. Towards the end of my PhD, I started working in gambling research with researchers at the University of Sydney. This led to a position in the Centre for Gambling Education and Research at Southern Cross University, where I worked for a little over four years. During this time I published quite a few papers with the research team and was recognised for this with three consecutive publication prizes, as well as a spot on the SCU ECR Development program, entry into which was competitive.
