Biography
Dr Vandelanotte completed all his studies in Physical Education (Bachelor, 1997; Masters, 1999; and PhD, 2004) at the Ghent University in Belgium. His Phd was on the development and evaluation of a computerized and individualized intervention for increasing physical activity and decreasing fat intake, and was supervised by Prof Dr Ilse De Bourdeaudhuij. In 2005, Dr Vandelanotte moved to Brisbane, Australia and worked at the Cancer Prevention Research Centre (University of Queensland) under the supervision of Prof Neville Owen and Prof Elisabeth Eakin. In 2009, Dr Vandelanotte moved to the Central Queensland University and where he has been leading the Physical Activity Research Group (2010) and the 10,000 Steps Australia Project (2013). Dr Vandelanotte's research has a population-based approach to health behaviour change and is focussed on the development and evaluation of computer-tailored, web-, app- and tracker-based physical activity interventions.
