Biography

Professor Mishra is Head of the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Division and Professor of Life Course Epidemiology at the School of Public Health, University of Queensland (UQ). She is also Director of the Australian Longitudinal Study of Women’s Health (ALSWH). Prior to this, she was a Programme Leader at the MRC unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing, University College London, UK. Professor Mishra currently holds a prestigious ARC Future Fellowship and is internationally recognized for her expertise in women’s health and life course epidemiology. She has more than 250 peer-reviewed scientific papers and book chapters, including as co-editor of a key academic textbook on Family Based Studies. She is also accredited as a Chartered Scientist (Science Council) and Chartered Statistician (UK, Royal Statistical Society). In early 2016 she presented on her research at a co-hosted event with the Australian Government at the UN Commission for the Status of Women in New York. Her current work includes leading the InterLACE project, a major international collaborative research programme on reproductive health and chronic disease that combines data from more than 200,000 women from 20 cohort studies in 10 countries.
