Biography
Karen joined the School in 1996 and is Deputy Director (Programs and Innovation) at the Parenting and Family Support Centre. She has co-authored Triple P – Positive Parenting Program resources, including professional manuals and teaching aids, parent workbooks and tip sheet series, and DVD programs, which are currently being used in over 25 countries in 21 languages. Her research has spanned projects relating to the prevention and treatment of a variety of childhood behavioural and emotional problems. An ongoing theme has been the evaluation of innovative methods of improving parents’ access to evidence-based parenting information and support, including media and online parenting interventions.
Research Interest
Cultural tailoring of mainstream parenting programs for Indigenous families, and enhancing evidence-based program sustainability in remote communities.
