Biography
Michelle facilitates participatory, action-oriented public health research with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and with people in the Pacific (PNG and Solomon Islands). Current research interests include: resilience of Indigenous boarding school students, suicide prevention, tuberculosis, social effects of climate change, HIV prevention, and gender and public health. Michelle actively facilitates research capacity strengthening activities in all research work. Michelle is also exploring the role of poetry to enhance her public health research work - both as a tool for critical reflection and for advocacy.
