Biography
Professor Minchin received his PhD from the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Western Australia before undertaking post-doctoral studies at the National Cancer Institute in Washington DC. His major work was on pulmonary toxicology of anti-cancer drugs and chemical carcinogenesis. He returned as a QEII Fellow to the University of New South Wales to investigate polyamine transport in the lung. Eventually, he returned to the University of Western Australia as a teaching and research academic where his interest in arylamine N-acetyltransferases and gene therapy developed. Currently, Professor Minchin is the Chair of Molecular Pharmacology at the University of Queensland and is Head, Laboratory for Moleculkar and Cellular Pharmacology in the School of Biomedical Sciences
