Rohan De Silva

Biography

Dr Rohan de Silva is a lecturer of the School of Engineering and Technology. He has specialised in computer networks and teaches ICT courses at the CQUniversity. Rohan has obtained a PhD and a MEng degree in Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia, a ME degree from the Technical University of Berlin, West Germany and a BSc Eng (Hons) degree from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He is a member of the ICT Program Reference Committee of the School. Before joining the CQUniversity, Rohan was a tenured lecturer of the School of Information Systems, Technology and Management of UNSW where he was also the MCom Coordinator for some time. He also contributed to curriculum development as a member of the School's curriculum development committee and contributed to ACS accreditation of networking courses that he taught. During his tenure at UNSW, he also spent 6 months of sabbatical leave at universities in Thailand and Sri Lanka. He has been an adjunct lecturer of the School of Computer Science and Engineering of UNSW as well. He has also taught at the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications of UNSW. Rohan is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He is also a life member of the Association of Medical Doctors Asia (AMDA) Sri Lankan Chapter.
