Biography
Vanessa has been associated with UQ since 2000 and is a practising clinical psychologist. In addition to her position at UQ, she is a Principal Research Fellow at the Mater Research Institute and a Senior Clinical Psychologist within the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in the newly created Children’s Health Qld Health and Hospital District. At the Mater RI, Vanessa oversees the QF2011 Flood study, a longitudinal study of women who were pregnant during the 2011 Queensland floods, and their babies (funded through the Canadian Institute of Health Research).

Child and adolescent psychopathology; The impact of natural disasters on children, adolescents and families; impact of disaster-related post-natal maternal stress on children’s development.
