Biography
A / Prof Schaider earned his MD at the Medical University of Graz, Austria and received training in melanoma biology at The Wistar Institute, Philadelphia, PA. Meenhard Herlyn's lab. After finishing residency in dermatology he became an attending physician and later Assistant Professor at the Department of Dermatology in Graz, setting up a lab on tumor biology with support from the Austrian Science Funds. Since 2007, he was leading the Cancer Biology Unit at the Department of Dermatology, Medical University of Graz. In October 2012, he was offered an appointment as Associate Professor in Dermatology at the DRC. His research interests are related to all aspects of melanoma biology with emphasis on elucidating mechanisms of drug resistance.
