Biography
DrDr Behzad Eftekhar completed his neurosurgical training in Tehran University in 1995. During his academic career at Tehran Dr Behzad Eftekhar completed his neurosurgical training in Tehran University in 1995. During his academic career at Tehran University, he was awarded the position of Clinical Associate Professor of Neurosurgery. He obtained a Master of Public Health in 2003. Dr Behzad Eftekhar completed his neurosurgical training in Tehran University in 1995. During his academic career at Tehran University, he was awarded the position of Clinical Associate Professor of Neurosurgery. He obtained a Master of Public Health in 2003. Dr Eftekhar migrated to Australia with his family in 2006. He furthered his Australasian neurosurgical experience in Royal Hobart Hospital (Tasmania), Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital (Perth), Royal Perth Hospital, Dunedin Hospital (New Zealand) and subspecialty training in Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery at the Australian School of Advanced Medicine, Macquarie University. Dr Eftekhar is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, member of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia and member of the Congress of Neurological Surgery(US). He has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers. He is experienced in tumour and spinal surgery, with a special interest in cerebrovascular pathologies including aneurysms, stroke and arteriovenous malformations.
