Meagan Brennan

Biography

 Meagan is a Breast Physician with expertise in the diagnostic work-up of women with breast symptoms. She holds Fellowships of the Australasian Society of Breast Physicians (ASBP) and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). She has extensive experience in the interpretation of breast imaging and performance of breast biopsy. Her particular interests are managing of women at high genetic risk of breast cancer and enhancing follow-up care after treatment for breast cancer. Meagan has been a leader in developing the role of the breast physician in the cancer team and establishing credentialing standards in breast medicine. She is a past office bearer in the Executive of the ASBP. She is a current Executive member of the Australasian Society for Breast Disease (ASBD). She is also an enthusiastic teacher and researcher. Meagan is a Clinical Associate Professor at Sydney Medical School and also holds a Staff Specialist appointment at Westmead Hospital. She teaches at The University of Sydney and The University of Notre Dame. Meagan offers care to women at high risk of breast cancer, with benign breast disease and those requiring diagnostic work-up of breast symptoms and imaging abnormalities.

Research Interest

 Meagan’s research interests include survivorship care, breast imaging and breast cancer in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and women from culturally diverse backgrounds. She has over 60 peer-reviewed publications.
