Biography
A/Prof Michael Back (MBBS FRANZCR GradDipPsyOnc MBA) is the current Director of Radiation Oncology at NSCC and has been specializing in the management of brain tumours for almost 20 years. He has been active in developing and expanding multidisciplinary neuro-oncology services in major university teaching hospitals within NSW and South East Asia. With a strong emphasis on patient-centred care and empowerment through information provision, he has generated a large clinical practice encompassing latest evidence-based care, technology, research and clinical trials. A/Prof Back is a conjoint associate professor at the Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney. He is also a Visiting Medical Officer at the Central Coast Cancer Centre and a consultant at Genesis Cancer Care Australia. Previous specialty positions include the Newcastle Mater Hospital, Singapore National Neuroscience Institute and the Singapore National University Hospital.
