Biography
Prof Stephen Lee is a male Dermatologist in Ryde, NSW. Professor Stephen Lee AM is a graduate of the University of Sydney, with First Class Honours. He has been a clinical teacher for 35 years. In Sydney he has been the Head of the Department of Dermatology at Concord Repatriation General Hospital since 1997 and a Visiting Dermatologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital since 1981. Professor Lee was appointed a Visiting Professor at China Medical University in Shenyang, China in 2004 and subsequently he was appointed a Clinical Associate Professor (Honorary) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 2006 Professor Lee was appointed a Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Sydney. In 2012 Professor Lee became a Clinical Professor in Dermatology within Central and Concord Clinical Schools of The University of Sydney. From 1999 Professor Lee was the Honorary Secretary of the Australasian College of Dermatologists for 5 years. In 2002 Professor Lee became a Federal Councillor and Director of the Australian Medical Association (AMA), and he also became the inaugural Dermatology Representative on the AMA Federal Council. In 2007 Professor Lee was honoured with admission to the AMA Roll of Fellows. In May 2014 Professor Lee completed 12 continuous years of serving in the above roles within the Federal AMA. On Australia Day in 2009 Professor Lee was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for services to medicine in the field of dermatology as a clinician, mentor and educator and through roles with professional organizations. In 2011 Professor Lee was awarded the Sydney University Wesley Foundation Medal for contributions in the health and education sectors.
Research Interest
Melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, skin problems in diabetes, public health and ethics in medicine.
