Biography
Professor Douglas Hilton is the Director of the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, Head of the Department of Medical Biology at the University of Melbourne, and the current President of the Association of Australian Medical Research Institutes. He is an Advisory Board member of the Australian Government Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF). Professor Hilton has received many prizes and awards for his contribution to medical research, including the inaugural Commonwealth Health Minister's Award for Excellence in Health and Medical Research, the GSK Australia Award for Research Excellence, Research Australia Innovation and Leadership Award, Milstein Award for Excellence in Interferon and Cytokine Research, and the Ramaciotti Medal. He is an elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, the Australian Academy of Technical Sciences and Engineering, and the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences. He has been a Director of the Company since 27 October 2009.
