  Sam Ngan Radiation Oncologist, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre Sam, what's the best part of being a radiation oncologist? The best part of being a radiation oncologist is to be able to look after patients in need. How are you currently involved with TROG? I am working on our rectal trials TROG 01.04 and TROG 09.01 (PROArCT), and am aiming to have several publications this year. Tell me about a major project you are working on at the moment. We are exploring whether there is an opportunity to perform a randomised trial for locally advanced rectal cancer based on the results of our recently completed phase II trial. What has been the highlight of your working career so far? Successful completion of the TROG 01.04, a randomised trial for rectal cancer. What is it like to work at Peter Mac? Peter Mac is unique. It provides me with the opportunity to work mainly in my areas of interest. It has the supportive environment necessary for research.
