Biography
Dr Moore is a Paediatric Oncologist at the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital and Group Leader of the Childhood Leukaemia Research Laboratory at the University of Queensland Diamantina Institute, TRI. He is also Director of the Queensland Children's Tumour Bank, one of only 3 biobanks in Australia dedicated to childhood cancer. After completing his clinical training in Paediatric Oncology in Brisbane, Dr Moore undertook a PhD in cancer drug development at the Institute of Cancer Research, University of London and the Royal Marsden Hospital. Dr Moore's clinical and research interests are on acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), an aggressive form of leukaemia with a poor prognosis. His research focuses on understanding the causes of resistance to therapy and relapse, and aims to discover new therapeutic approaches for this devastating disease.
