Biography
Aleksandra Ochnik has completed an international Susan G. Komen postdoctoral research and training fellowship in the US at the Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota and a Cancer Institute of NSW Sydney Vital Translational Cancer Research Centre preclinical postdoctoral fellowship at the Kolling Institute of Medical Research/University of Sydney. Her postdoctoral research has focused primarily on growth factor receptor signaling in breast cancer, specifically type I insulin-like growth factor receptor (IGF1R) with the aim understanding the involvement IGF1R signalling downstream mediators and co-related factors for the development of more effective IGF1R-directed therapies. Currently she is undertaking a research fellowship in Professor Shudong Wang's laboratory studying and testing novel classes of kinase inhibitors against haematological and solid tumours for future clinical translation.
