Biography
Aneta joined the Intellectual Disability Research Group at the end of 2016. The focus of the group is to gain a deeper understanding of the gene mutations that cause intellectual disability, autism, and seizures in children. Aneta is specifically investigating the effect estradiol has on seizures and understanding the molecular changes the treatment may have on the brain. Prior to this, Aneta undertook her PhD in the Breast Cancer Research Unit. Her project investigated the anti-cancer efficacy of a small population of immune cells, in combination with a drug used for osteoporosis against cancers in the bone.
