Biography
PhD on Cambrian granites and metamorphics in 1973. Post-doctoral research on phosphate ores (1973-78; Monash University, CSIRO Mineral Chemistry) and later studies (1978-onwards; CSIRO Land & Water) on the mineralogy and geochemistry of weathering in soils and landscapes (silcretes, calcretes, ferricretes). Initiated research on mine wastes and mine landforms focussing on rehabilitation strategies from mid-1980's until 2010 while in CSIRO and, later, Rio Tinto. Now Visiting Research Fellow in Earth Sciences at the University of Adelaide. Current research interests in weathering and landscape evolution.
