Biography
Austin Milton works for the Stroke Research Programme, part of the Neurology Department of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in the Basil Hetzel Institute for Translational Medicine at Woodville, South Australia. Austin has extensive experience in immunodiagnostics, including two episodes as NATA assessor of immunodiagnostic laboratories and several years of experience in a renal immunology team. His skills include PCR assays, electrophoresis techniques, cell cultures, immuno-histochemistry and both light and ultraviolet microscopy. He has co-authored 11 publications in the last 5 years, ten of them regarding stroke or stroke genetics, and has previously co-authored a chapter on microbiological tests in a medical textbook, and helped with the editing and publication of three medical textbooks. He has 28 original peer-reviewed publications recognised by Google Scholar. He undertakes critical editing of scientific manuscripts for publication and thesis review and is skilled at writing grant applications to funding bodies like the NHMRC.
