Biography
Professor Chris Proud held numerous positions as lecturer, reader or professor in universities in the UK, Germany and Canada before moving to Adelaide, in September 2014, to take up the position of inaugural Theme Leader: Nutrition and Metabolism at SAHMRI. In January 2016 Chris succeeded Professor John Hopwood as Director of the Lysosomal Diseases Research Unit. Chris continues his long-standing interest in the molecular mechanisms by which nutrients and hormones regulate mammalian cell function, especially protein metabolism and gene expression and the roles they play in health and disease. Chris is also holds a Distinguished Foreign Expert position at Zhejiang University in China.
