Biography
Head, Biomechanics Laboratory, Adelaide Spinal Research Group & Centre for Orthopaedics & Trauma Research NHMRC Early Career Research Fellow, School of Medicine, University of Adelaide Centre for Orthopaedics & Trauma Research, School of Medicine, University of Adelaide Adjunct Lecturer, School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Adelaide Adjunct Senior Lecturer, School of Health Sciences, University of South Australia Using a variety of in vitro and in vivo laboratory techniques and medical imaging modalities, Dr Jones studies the biomechanics of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems in normal, diseased and injured states. A better understanding of such biomechanics contributes to improved disease and injury prevention strategies, diagnostic tests and conservative and surgical treatments. Dr Jones' research primarily focuses on orthopaedic and injury biomechanics of the spine and spinal cord, as well as upper and lower limb biomechanics and associated orthopaedic devices. She has expertise in the development of novel large animal and cadaver models for biomechanics research.
