Biography
Prof Diane Mather is the J.A.T. Mortlock Chair of Crop Improvement in the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine. She and her group conduct molecular genetic research in crop plants, especially wheat and barley. She leads GRDC-supported research projects that aim to develop molecular markers for cereal breeding and to isolate cereal genes that confer resistance against parasitic nematodes. She oversees the molecular breeding operations of Durum Breeding Australia.
