Biography
Dr Eamon Raith is an ICU Registrar at The Royal Adelaide Hospital, a Neonatal & Paediatric Retrieval Registrar at MedSTAR Kids & a Clinical Lecturer in the Discipline of Surgery. He has research interests in outcomes research and experimental medicine, in the areas of mitochondrial bioenergetics, sepsis, extracorporeal life support, neurocritical care, haemostasis & thrombosis, and surgical critical care. In addition, Eamon is involved in outcomes research through the Australia and New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS) Centre for Outcome and Resource Evaluation and is involved in the Global Open Source International Severity Score (GOSISS) project, working in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Philips Healthcare (US) and with critical care registry groups around the world to create an international severity of illness score. Eamon is also involved in research in the field of disaster and retrieval medicine, particularly regarding outcomes for paediatric and neonatal retrieval, and the role and integration of paediatric critical care within disaster planning and management frameworks.
