Biography
Gill joined the School of Architecture and Built Environment at University of Adelaide in 2015, embarking on a PhD in adaptive reuse of existing buildings in urban environments, particularly looking at policy and barriers to adaptive reuse uptake. This interest stems from both professional practice experience of adaptive reuse and her approach to design. Gill is an experienced educator, and prior to relocating to South Australia, Gill was a Senior Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Central Lancashire (UK). She has been a practising Architect (UK registered) since 2002, specialising in sustainable healthcare buildings and large-scale urban regeneration projects, including adaptive reuse projects. Gill is a founder member and Secretary of CIAT Australasia, supporting the network of Chartered Architectural Technologists across Australasia, aligning professional practice with research and education.
