Biography
My research interests are in the areas of plant small RNAs and crop stress physiology. My PhD research characterised the genome-wide profile of durum microRNAs under water deficiency, which provided fundamental knowledge of the epigenetic basis of stress tolerance in durum. My current research areas are nitrogen use efficiency in durum, profiling bioactive compound-associated genes in durum (not limited to phenolics), and characterising genetic dynamics during barley–pathogen interactions.
