Biography
Janet Wall is currently the Centre Administrator for the Hugo Centre for Migration and Population Research and the Centre for Housing, Urban and Regional Planning (CHURP) at the University of Adelaide. Prior to this she was a Senior Research Officer in the Department of Geography, Environment and Population. From 1982 to 2015 she worked closely with Professor Graeme Hugo on his research projects and publications, including the Atlas of the Australian People series based on the 1986, 1991 and 1996 censuses and funded by the former Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, his Federation Fellowship on “The New Paradigm of International Migration To and From Australia: Dimensions, Causes and Implications” (2002-2006) and Australian Professorial Fellowship on “Circular Migration in Asia, the Pacific and Australia: Empirical, Theoretical and Policy Dimensions” (2010-2014), both funded by the Australian Research Council. She has provided specialised literature searches, demographic data collection and analysis, especially relating to migration and editorial assistance.
