Biography
emma Seyfang is a final year PhD student at The University of Adelaide researching pig reproduction and behaviour. She has a strong interest in breeding and reproduction, welfare, and sustainable farming. Her PhD aims to determine if there are differences in gilt reproduction and behaviour based on the sex ratio of a gilts birth litter. The key focus areas of this research are anxiety, aggression, ovulation, LH surge dynamics, and KNDy cells. The overall goal of the research is to improve gilt selection to increase gilt retention and lower aggression in group housing.
