Biography
I am a Bioinformatician/Computational Biologist at the University of Adelaide with experience in plant genomics, ancient DNA, epigenetics and next-generation sequencing (NGS) analysis. I am currently head of Bioinformatics core-facility at the Robinson Research Institute, where I collaborate with other RRI researchers in human reproduction, pregnancy and child health. I am also co-lecturer of the Master's level Bioinformatics unit (7005 - Bioinformatics and System Modelling) in the MSc Biotechnology course offered at the University of Adelaide. My research investigates epigenetics in the human genome and other model systems, as well as developing Bioinformatics tools to aid researchers in investigating the effect of epigenetic regulation on gene expression. I am a founding member of the Epigenetics Consortium of South Australia (EpiCSA; https://epicsa.org.au) and I'm also the communications officer. I have previously worked on a range of research in agricultural genomics, genome assembly, and ancient DNA, as well as developing data repositories for open-access research data, such as the Online Ancient Genome Repository (http://www.oagr.org.au).
