Biography
Jonathan Crichton is visiting fellow in Psychiatry, Adelaide Medical School, University of Adelaide, and senior lecturer in Applied Linguistics, program director of the Bachelor of Arts, and member of the Research Centre for Languages and Cultures (RCLC) at University of South Australia. He's also vice president of the Applied Linguistics Association of Australia. His academic background is in philosophy and linguistics and his research focuses on communication in professions and organisations, particularly in health settings. He's involved in projects with practitioners and clients in psychiatry, mental health and aged care that aim to enhance how language is used and understood at critical moments in people's lives.
