Biography
Dr Luke Selth Senior Research Fellow - DRMCRL. Dr Selth heads the Prostate Cancer Research program within the Dame Roma Mitchell Cancer Research Laboratories (DRMCRL), School of Medicine. His research focuses on two aspects of prostate cancer development and progression. The first involves research into the role of microRNAs in prostate carcinogenesis and metastasis and their use as potential biomarkers of disease. The second is aimed at investigating the mechanisms underlying continued androgen signalling in lethal forms of prostate cancer. These research programs utilise contemporary "omic" techniques to better understand prostate cancer at the molecular level. Dr Selth is a past Young Investigator of Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and the Prostate Cancer Foundation (USA). His research is funded by various bodies, including grants from the National Health and Medical Research Program, US Department of Defense and Cancer Australia.
