Biography
I am a graduate in Nutrition and Dietetics as well as in Food Science and Technology. Throughout the period of my undergraduate studies I had the opportunity of doing internships and jobs under diverse roles. For instance, I worked within a Nutritional Biochemistry research team that had focus on development of new foods for prevention and treatment of childhood overweight and obesity. On the other hand, I also worked in a healthcare centre as a Dietitian. In 2013, I started my postgraduate studies at Aarhus University, Denmark. Where I joined the Molecular Biology and Genetics department to study the potential health benefits of a specific milk protein. After Finishing my master's degree, I moved to Australia to continue my studies. Currently, I am a PhD student in Medicine at the Adelaide University. The focus of my project is to investigate the molecular mechanisms responsible for the regulation of leptin and ghrelin secretion in the stomach. Moreover, the project also aims to investigate such mechanisms under different conditions, like obesity or gastrointestinal diseases.
