Nerina Dunt

Biography

Nerina Dunt is a researcher, writer and occasional curator. Her most recent major project was the research and documentation of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Collection held by Flinders University Art Museum. She was also commissioned by the University of New South Wales for research projects 'South Australian Artists at the Art Gallery of South Australia' and 'Photohistory SA, R.J. Noye Collection at the Art Gallery of South Australia'; both of which were documented for Design & Art Australia Online. In 2005 Nerina undertook an art museum internship under the mentorship of Robert Reason, Curator of European and Australian Decorative Arts, Art Gallery of South Australia, where her research focused on the life and work of Gladys Reynell (1881-1956). In 2007, she co-curated with Nici Cumpston and Maggie Fletcher, the exhibition 'Indigenous Responses to Colonialism: Another Story' at the Adelaide Festival Centre. Nerina holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) (2000), from the South Australian School of Art, University of South Australia, and a Master of Arts (Art History) (2005), from the University of Adelaide in conjunction with the Art Gallery of South Australia. She is currently in the final stage of her Art History PhD at the University of Adelaide, which focuses on contemporary Indigenous Australian art.
