Biography
Nicole has worked in cancer research since 1996. She completed a PhD at the University of Adelaide in 2003, where she studied the effects of male hormones, known as androgens, in breast cancer. She then did her post-doctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where she studied how hormones interact with proteins that control cell division in breast cancer. Nicole returned to Adelaide in 2009 to continue her breast cancer studies, undertaking projects investigating how hormone replacement therapy impacts the breast and the role of the androgen receptor in different breast cancer subtypes. She is currently working as the Research Manager for the Prostate Cancer Research Group, where she is responsible for administration for the group’s projects as well as managing activities of the Movember Revolutionary Team Award, which includes numerous researchers located in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and North America.
