Biography
Shadrack Mutuku is a PhD student at the University of Adelaide, School of Medicine and a recipient of the University of Adelaide International Wildcard Scholarship. He holds a MSc. in Drug Discovery and Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Nottingham, UK and a BSc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya. His Masters project involved using an immobilised artificial membrane as a lipid bilayer model to study it's effects on drug-receptor kinetics. He has joined the Prostate Cancer Research Group at SAHMRI to exploit the application of mass spectrometry imaging in characterising lipid changes in prostate tissue during anti-cancer therapy.
