Biography
Dr Sharmina Ahmed is a Researcher (Post-Doctoral Fellow) in Centre for Global Food and Resources (GFAR) at the University of Adelaide. Dr Sharmina has undertaken extensive research in the field of social economics, policy analysis, agriculture, food and health. Her recent work focuses on policy analyses of food consumption patterns, determinants of changes in food consumption behavior, and relationships between socio-economic factors and geographic location of health and health outcomes in different groups of people. Currently, she is involved in undertake research to develop policy recommendations using theoretical economics and linking that with social and behavioral science. Her research interest includes Applied Microeconomics, Development Economics, Health Economics, Economics of Education, Agricultural Economics, Environmental Economics, and Economics of Religion.
