Biography
Dr Little is a biomedical scientist who was awarded her PhD in gastrointestinal physiology and appetite regulation from the University of Adelaide in 2007. Since that time, she has been a full-time researcher, supported by prestigious fellowships from the NHMRC. Her research has yielded discoveries that have contributed significantly to current concepts of the role of small intestinal mechanisms in the regulation of appetite and food intake, and she has an emerging international reputation for her work in this area. Her current research is focused on understanding the role of oral and gastrointestinal fat sensing receptors in mediating appetite, gastrointestinal motility and postprandial triglyceride responses in health and obesity, with the aim to develop more effective targeted strategies for weight loss and metabolic health.
