Biography
Dr Waddah A. Al-Ashwal graduated with a B.S. in electrical engineering in 2003 (top of his class), from Sana'a University, Yemen. Before returning to academia he worked in the gas and oil industry as a wireline field engineer for Schlumberger S.A. In 2007, he obtained an M.Sc. in digital communications and microwaves (with distinction) from the University of Manchester, UK. In 2011, he completed his PhD in electronic engineering from University College London, UK. He joined the University of Adelaide in 2011 where his research has focused on developing low phase noise microwave oscillators and synthesisers and radar systems and signal processing. His research interests include low phase noise frequency synthesis and distribution, bistatic and radar system design and signal processing particularly in relation to polarimetric radar, radar phenomenology, and multistatic and netted radar systems.
