Biography
My research has taken me around the world researching Indigenous resilience to colonial domination by Aboriginal people’s active participation in enterprise. I am a Fulbright Scholar and have won 2 Endeavour Fellowships in addition to numerous research grants both nationally and internationally. I have been an advisor to Ministers on Indigenous matters and remain focused on improving the social well-being of Indigenous Australia through active participation within the economy which has seen me appointed as a founding Director of the NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce. Publications and supervision has been eclectic and I will remain multi-disciplined even though my academic qualifications are within business – management and entrepreneurship. Current projects are looking at sustainable Aboriginal involvement in tourism and culturally acceptable practices in small to medium businesses, together with an ongoing analysis of entrepreneurship among Irish Travellers and the study of social capital among the Canadian Cree and urban and remote Aboriginal Australians.
