Biography
The focus of my research is on issues related to efficiency and productivity in financial institutions, regulation / policy issues in the financial sector, technology in banks, micro finance and anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing. My interest is in use of both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The focus is on the Australasian region. I have published in top ranking journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance,European Journal of Operational Research, and the Journal of the Operational Research Society. In recent years I have won competitive research grants totalling in value exceeding A$100,000. Most of these were won under my leadership and have been successfully completed. Several students have completed DBA/PhD under my supervision and I currently have four HDR students in the area of my research interest as above. My research has led to me being invited by Australian and overseas media quite often to comment on banking and finance issues and I regularly appear on TV channels in Australia. I have also worked as an expert witness in court cases on banking and finance related issues in Australia. I was consulted by the Senate Economics Committee of the Australian Parliament House on several occasions on matters relating to banking and finance issues.

Both qualitative and quantitative as well as mixed methods approaches have been used.
