Biography
Associate Professor Penny Schofield is the Director in the Department of Cancer Experience Research at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Victoria. She is a behavioural scientist with over 25 years experience in conducting research in the field of cancer control. She is the author of over 100 papers and eight book chapters or reports, and has given 34 Invited Presentations since 2006, and 43 oral conference presentations. A/Prof Schofield is a named Chief Investigator on 36 peer-reviewed grants. She has extensive experience in behavioural, psycho-social, quality of life and supportive care research in cancer, particularly randomised controlled trials. Her current research focus is to assess and improve the quality of life and other patient reported outcomes of patients undergoing and completing cancer treatment via the development and testing of evidence-based psycho-educational interventions that can be readily adopted into clinical practice.
