Biography
Professor Julienne Meyer leads research in Care for Older People at City University London and is Executive Director of My Home Life Programme (MHL), a UK-wide initiative to promote quality of life for those living, dying, visiting and working in care homes for older people (www.myhomelife.org.uk). MHL is led by Age UK in collaboration with City University and Dementia UK and has the support of the Relatives and Residents’ Association and all the national provider organisations that represent care homes across the UK. She holds Adjunct Professorships at Griffith University (Brisbane), University of South Australia (Adelaide) and University of Wisconsin-Maddison (USA). She is a commissioner on the Demos Commission on Residential Care (http://www.demos.co.uk/projects/corc) and the HSJ Commission on Future Hospital Care for Frail Older People, Board Member of the International Association of Homes and Services for the Ageing and Co-convenor of the National Care Homes Research and Development Forum in the UK.
