Biography
Forbes is an honorary associate professor at the Sydney University School of Public Health in the field of Planetary Health. He is also an anaesthetist and intensive care physician at Western Health, Melbourne. He completed his PhD in hospital environmnental sustainability at the University of Melbourne in 2016.
Research Interest
Forbes' research interests revolve around improving hospital financial and environmental sustainability, including measuring the life cycle costs of providing different models of patient care. He is keenly collaborating with chemists, engineers and others to find ways for medicine to reduce its environmental footprint. He is also actively involved in teaching medical students and junior doctors as well as examining for the First Part Examinations for the College of Intensive Care Medicine.
