Biography
Dr Greg Fox a respiratory physician, epidemiologist and clinical trialist committed to using research to improve health care among disadvantaged populations. His research focuses on detection and prevention of tuberculosis (TB), a lung infection that kills over two million people each year. Greg's ongoing work ranges from community-wide cluster randomised trials and clinical trials to meta-analysis and evidence-base policy development. Much of his research is in resource-limited settings. Greg is a CJ Martin Fellow and Senior Lecturer in Respiratory Medicine at Sydney University. He lived in Vietnam for four years, during which time he established a major randomised controlled trial of household screening for tuberculosis. He maintains an active research collaboration in Vietnam, in partnership with the Vietnam National TB program. He currently leads an NHMRC-supported clinical trial that aims to prevent tuberculosis among the family members of patients with multi-drug resistant tuberculosis in Vietnam.
Research Interest
Dr Fox's research interests include the epidemiology of infectious disease in resource-limited setting, cluster randomised trials, and clinical trials. He also has interests in systematic reviews and meta-analyses, translation of evidence into policy, decision analysis and capacity building in research.
