Maria Cadiz Dyball

Biography

Maria Cadiz Dyball is an Associate Professor in the Discipline of Accounting at The University of Sydney, having previously worked at The University of New South Wales and Macquarie University. Maria is an active supervisor of research students and has extensive experience in teaching research methodology, corporate governance and management accounting units. Maria’s research projects are interdisciplinary and collaborative in nature. Current research areas include management control systems in inter-organisational relationships including inter-firm innovation, and, in media organizations; migrant labour health and control; not-for-profit accountability; professional skepticism in audits, and, ethics in management accounting work. Her research is recognized with awards including a 2007 Mary Parker Follett Award (Emerald Publishers’ Award for Excellence) for Most Outstanding Paper published in Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, and supported by external, competitive grants. Maria has published in leading international journals such as Accounting History, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Corporate Governance: an International Review, Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Financial Accountability and Management and Journal of Business Ethics. Dr Dyball serves on the editorial boards of Accounting History, Managerial Auditing Journal, and Qualitative Research in Financial Markets. She is an Associate Editor for Abacus. Dr Dyball is a member of the Research Panel for Certified Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Centre of Excellence Australasia.
